Nursery

Mr. H and I have been working super hard these last few weeks and I am so happy that the nursery is finally finished (well we still need curtains but close enough).

33 week 3 days

I didn't mean to take such a long break from blogging.  We have been super busy getting the nursery together and getting our house ready for Baby H. I am waiting for one more thing I ordered and the nursery will be ready and then I will post pictures!

We found out that my cervical stitch will be removed on June 15th.  I am trying to get the doctor to agree to a slightly earlier date. I am very tired and uncomfortable and anxious to meet the baby!

28 Weeks and Putting Stuff Together

Since my last post work has been super busy.  I am trying to get everything in order before my maternity leave starts.

Mr. H. and I (well I have been supervising) have been cleaning out the room that will be the nursery.   We also put together the play yard.  We will use the bassinet part in our room until the baby is ready to move into the nursery.

The cat wanted to help.

So far so good.

Getting a little confusing ...
Got it now!

IT DOESN'T FIT .. until you collapse it.

I told Mr. H. that he will now be putting together stuff for Baby H. forever now. He seems to be okay with that.

We are very excited that we have reached 28 weeks, that means Baby H. has a 90% chance of survival if he were to be born.   My hands and feet are starting to swell now though so I am trying to eat less salt and put them up at night after work.

My baby shower is next weekend and I will be happy to finish getting everything together!  We also have the first of our baby classes next week, which is super exciting!

25 and 26 weeks (pictures)

At my last growth ultrasound (03.27) Baby H. was measuring 2 weeks ahead in length and weight.   He was just over 2 lbs.  I am feeling more confident every week and we have started to work on getting everything together for his arrival.

25 weeks

26 weeks (the sweater is very forgiving to the big baby).

Still Pregnant @ 25 +2

Viability!! I am still very much pregnant! I am very excited that I am well on my way to 26 weeks, my next goal is 28 weeks and then 34 weeks.

Mr. H and I are officially getting ready to bring this baby home.  The nursery is being cleaned out, house projects are being finished it is pretty exciting! A baby shower has been planned, we are registered and small baby items have been bought here and there!

We found these at Babies R Us and couldn't resist buying them.

My belly is getting SUPER huge.  This is 23 weeks and 6 days!

 24 WEEKS!!
 (24+6)

The baby is measuring ahead of schedule each time we have an ultrasound so we are kind of planning on the fact that he will arrive early, we are hoping to make it to Memorial Day, when I will be 34 weeks.

22 + 6

I have officially kept my water intact for the longest amount of time ever.  When I was pregnant with Charlie my water broke at 22 weeks.  I am 22 weeks and 6 days today with a water bag intact. That means five more days until I am further along than I ever have made it.  I am so scared/nervous.  I am hoping to bring this baby home.  Everyday is a day closer to making that happen.

21 weeks

I am 21 weeks and 6 days today.  When I was pregnant with Charlie I woke up at 1 am when I was 22 weeks to my water breaking.  Needless to say I am so nervous for tonight/tomorrow morning.  This pregnancy has been going so much more smoothly than the last one but I am still so scared.  The next two weeks will really determine whether we bring this baby home.  I feel like I am holding my breath until them.

The baby has also move up so high that when he kicks it feels like he is kicking underneath my breast.  I know he isn't this high but it feels so strange because Charlie was so low the whole time.   Mr. H. requested that I take a baby pic in a Bears t-shirt.  So that is what you see below.

20 weeks

I am halfway to holding our baby! I am pretty excited but sad too because if our little guy is okay this will likely be our last baby.  Pregnancy is so emotionally and physically draining for me that I don't know if I can do it again.  I would like to give this little guy (and Charlie) a sibling but if it doesn't happen I won't beat myself up about it.   I am trying to find a good balance between enjoying this time and the reality that you don't always bring a baby home with you.

We went to buybuyBaby on Sunday (2.26) and found a crib we both like.  I am going to post about the nursery sometime this week.  Mr. H. is getting super excited about the baby and found lots of clothes that wanted to buy.  It was super cute and I smile every time I think about how excited he is.

After buybuyBaby we went to Cheeseburger in Paradise, because I am always hungry for a burger and I love theirs. It was such a great day!

I think the scales are slowly tipping in our favor, we need to get to 24 weeks at least and hopefully 34 weeks. So I hope we can keep the baby baking for 14 more weeks!

Baby @ 18 weeks

Planning and Thinking and Worrying ... Oh My!

Sorry for my extended absence.  Life has been busy and I have been very tired.  I am happy to report that I have been having a nice quiet time so far.

Mr. H. and I are starting to think about day care and see how long a wait may be.  It is shockingly expensive so I am glad we are looking at our options early.  We have also started thinking about taking birth, breastfeeding and childcare classes.  It occurred to me that if the goal is to make it to 34 weeks then time is winding down quickly.  I guess I will discuss it with my OB at my next appt. (March 8th), but then I will be 3 weeks further along and the March classes may have already started.
Mr. H and I want to wait until after 24 weeks to take the classes so I guess our goal is probably April classes.

I feel like the more I think about the baby the more I realize I should be doing but then it all seems like I have way too much to do and don't know where to start. I guess this is the typical mom to be feeling. I don't want to get ahead of myself but I don't want to fall behind either.  I guess it will all work out.

15 weeks
16 Weeks

I didn't have a sign for 17 weeks.  This is really 17 weeks and 6 days.

I haven't taken my 18 week picture yet, I am a little behind schedule on this too!

16 Weeks

I guess it is time for an update.  Everything is okay.  I keep standing up too quickly and have round ligament pain. Work has been super busy.  I am trying really hard to keep my weight under control and so far it has been okay although I struggle every day to not go crazy by over eating.  I started my weekly 17P shots they last from week 16-34 or 36.  That means a maximum of 19 more shots before we are holding our little man and Chrarlie's little brother! (Labor tends to start quickly after the shots end.)

Mr. H and I are thinking of baby names.  It is really hard to pick out names for little boys. I guess not much is going on but I will gladly take that over my last pregnancy.  I am kind of bored being at home all the time.  I hope Mr. H. takes me to a movie or for dinner this weekend. I really cannot complain though.

We are having ...

We went for an elective ultrasound on January 13th and even though we had a snowstorm the day before we decided that it was still a good idea to keep our appointment. (I actually moved the appt from Saturday morning to Friday evening because I was afraid that it would snow again and we wouldn't be able to go.)

We decided to get a 3D ultrasound and we were able to see the baby's face.  I can't wait to go back once the baby gets more fat under his skin! The baby was pretty uncooperative and the technician had to give me a piece of chocolate to eat and I had to roll to my left side, which didn't work.  I suggested rolling to my right side since the baby prefers my left side.  We were finally able to get the baby moving.  And we quicklyPublish Post saw that our baby is a BOY!

Another baby boy.  Mr. H is super excited since this will likely be our last baby.  I was a little disappointed but am starting to be excited about having another son! I pray for a quiet six months until this little guy arrives!

Updates and Big Plans

I know I haven't posted in some time but my energy has not returned yet and work has been so busy!   And I spend all of my free time on pinterest these days.

I had a cervical cerclage (my cervix was stitched closed) on Friday 01.06.  It is still very sore.  I was able to sit up after a few days but sitting is a hard thing to do these days.  I find changing position often helps.  So the cerclage stays in until 36 weeks.  This seems a little crazy to me after delivering at 23+3.  I am going to speak the high risk doctor at my next appointment (Feb. 7th) and ask what he recommends. He previously stated that we shouldn't shoot too low but he wanted to be realistic.

My doctor's appointments with the OB will be every two weeks now to check the cerclage and my cervical length.  I also will start weekly appointments on 01.26 for 17P shots (to prevent pre-term labor).  If you are keeping track, that is a lot of appointments.

The most exciting news perhaps is that we have an appointment for an elective ultrasound on Saturday to find out the baby's gender.  I am perhaps a little early but the baby has measures four days ahead so we should be close enough.  It am starting to get excited.  I thought it was fun once we knew that Charlie was in fact a Charlie.  I hope this will help me be more excited about the pregnancy as a whole.

I will be back after our appointment to post the big news!
